As the founder of MRM Nutrition, his journey began long before the first supplement was formulated—it started in the ocean, on the mountains, and in the deep silence of nature, where he discovered his connection and balance within.
The Making of a Lifelong Explorer
Born and raised in California, Mark was always drawn to the outdoors. Whether surfing the Pacific waves, skiing down powder-covered slopes, or battling it out in water polo, he lived and breathed movement.
Competitive sports taught him discipline, but they also sparked a lifelong fascination with nutrition—how food fuels the body, sharpens the mind, and enhances performance.
A Fork in the Road
Before founding MRM Nutrition, Mark struggled to find his true calling. He dabbled in writing, launched a clothing company, and explored various entrepreneurial paths, but nothing felt quite right. During his time in the competitive surfing scene, Mark found himself in the wrong crowd—restless young men with a taste for rebellion.
A run-in with the law led him to a brief time in jail, an experience that became a profound turning point. It was there that Mark made a promise to himself: to let go of anything that no longer served him, to embrace faith, and to dedicate his life to uplifting others through health and wellness.
The Birth of MRM Nutrition
In 1996, Mark Olson founded ChemiSource with a bold mission: to bring novel nutraceutical ingredients into a market still clinging to outdated vitamins and minerals. When others couldn’t see the vision, Mark created his own path—launching MRM (Metabolic Response Modifiers) just months later as a DBA under ChemiSource, blending clinical insight with plant-based innovation.
From day one, MRM was built around the power of ingredients. Mark wasn’t interested in trends—he was committed to clean, science-backed formulas that respected nature and elevated wellness. Even as a one-man team with the title "VP of R&D," he laid the foundation for a brand that continues to transform pantries and lives with every scoop.
